I received this bible for free, directly from Tyndale, while in seminary. At the time, I was using the NASB (New American Standard Bible) because of its word-for-word accuracy. Yet, I held onto this NLT because it was comforting to read the Bible smoothly and with immediate clarity. In fact, I liked it so much, I eventually switched. I have decided to use the NLT all the time now (note, I am not a pastor).
This particular format is my favorite, and I have tried everything from 2kg bibles to Thinline bibles. The font makes for fast comprehension, but is not so large that the book is too thick. The paper is a clean white that is easy to read, and it has an ideal thinness for turning pages. Moreover, the hardcover is better for animals, the environment, ethical vegans, and my wallet (if I had to pay). | | | | So easy to read and understand! Oct 26, 2005 |
| I am delighted with this new living translation of the Bible. I have not read the Bible jut for pleasure in a long time but that is what this version does for me. I look forward to my daily reading time with anticipation. It is in plain language that is easy to understand and has numerous footnotes with references to other versions.
