Brava to KNB for such a wonderful, engaging, and uplifting story. I was almost sad to finish it. I read it in one day (today). The story is about a Christian couple, Bryan and Nicole, who love each other deeply and completely. They have been unable to have children but are dealing with it and love each other in spite of. Their world is shaken up when a woman from Bryan's past comes and reveals that they have a son...a 12 yr old boy! Bryan does not know this woman, but needless to say, both Bryan and Nicole are have the wind knocked out of them. This story follows them as they meet the young boy, deal with his mother, and work through the pain and strife that tries to destroy their marriage.
I mean, you really have to read this book for yourself. This is by far 1 of maybe 3 Christian fiction books that I can say was off the hook. This author really made me care about all of the characters, the exception being Tricia. I really felt the depth of Bryan and Nicole's love and I could feel the tension in the moments when they learned of Gerald. It was an enjoyable (or another appropriate adj) ride to read of their steadfastness to stay together and allow God's Will to be done.
Everything in this book was well-handled. Nothing seemed forced or contrived. I'm a Christian, but it bothers me in books where authors seem to bang over the head the Christian aspect of it. There was no denying the salvation of the characters. Some books sound so disingenuine and it becomes a turnoff. Not this author. Also, speaking of characters, there was the right amount of them in this book. Enough to keep it from being just the two main characters, but not so many that you lose track.
I could write all night, but I must get up for work tomorrow =) Check this book out. I rented it from the library, but it is now on my wishlist.

| There are so many books out there that always have a terrible issue come up that makes the couple break up, but ultimately get back together at the end of the book. Well, this book is just like those, but with a positive twist from beginning to end. | Bryan and Nicole Adams have what most of us would call the perfect marriage. There is unending love and devotion, but they have not been able to complete their family with the baby that they want. Nicole spends some time worrying over her inability to conceive, but after a while she accepts life as it is and seems to find wholeness in the love that her husband continuously showers on her. Life is good for the first eighty or so pages of this book. As an avid reader, I could mentally see the storm clouds rising. There had to be some drama on the horizon and boy was it ever. Tricia Smart brings major havoc to this otherwise perfect storybook romance. She walks into the Walker's lives and shocks both of them with a kid that is the spitting image of Bryan. Every thing that could happen to make a marriage fall apart begins to brew in Bryan and Nicole's world and what they will need is strong love to combat the evils of Tricia the she-devil and her twisted mind and vendictive spirit. The twist in this story totally caught me off-guard, making it one of the best plots I've read in a book in quite some time. I was introduced to this writer when I recently read "Crossing Jhordan's River". I still think I like that one a little bit better, but this one deserved top stars too. If you love drama but want to get away from the popular street, urban and erotic stuff that is everywhere now, Kendra Norman Bellamy offers some good, quality, wholesome, yet enthralling stories that will keep your fingers turning pages all night. | As a black man, I love books that glorify black men. I was introduced to the writing of this author by a book store owner in my town. I asked for good fiction where men weren't made to look like snakes and her first words were "Have you read anything by Kendra Norman-Bellamy." With the option to bring the books back for a refund if I didn't like them, I walked out of the store with every one of her titles. That was Saturday. Today is Wednesday. I read all four of her books in five days and I loved every one of them. I can't say that I've experienced love like the folks in A Love So Strong, For Love & Grace, and Because of Grace, but it was kwel to read about black love and survival despite the odds and the forces that fight against them. I'm more of a Jhordan kind of guy in Crossing Jhordan's River. I got issues, but I'll bust a ni**** in the mouth if he messes with my family. All of these books were great and it was good to read about brothers who fought for their women and the survival of their marriage.
