The smiles on the parent's faces beam as they look at their newborn child they hold between them. The little baby looks up at his father and grasps the cloth on his polo shirt. The day this baby was born was a very special one in their lives. Father and son share a special moment under the stars as they "talk" together. The father smiles at him and knows this child "will always be loved with a love that knows no bounds." As he grows and explores the world and the world explores him there will always be two people who will watch out for him.
In their yard his parents plant an orange tree for him as he toddles around the yard. They have special hopes and prayers for him as he goes through life. They want him to be kind, to "believe" in himself, to "strive to do [his] best, and to "remember to look for the good in every day." As he grows, they are there to guide him and teach him the lessons they have learned. His parents watch as he stands on his night stand awed by the sight of the moon. Soon he kneels to pray as they want him to "believe and trust in God and his promise of blessings." Soon there will be another blessing in the family. What will it be?
This beautiful book would be a lovely gift to give to anyone expecting a baby. More often than not, the first thing I hear from anyone having a baby is that the child is a "blessing" and has made their life complete. The blessings don't end in the child's infancy, but rather, as shown in this book continue on throughout their childhood with the many special little things a child is and what they are all about. The illustrations are heartwarming and subtly catch the little loving nuances on each parent's face.
